Trip Overview

Kathmandu is the capital and largest city of Nepal. For several hundred years, Kathmandu Valley was one of the three rival royal cities containing Kathmandu(Kantipur), Bhadgaon(Bhaktapur), and Patan(Lalitpur) of great historic, religious, and cultural interest. Situated in close distance to each other, today these three almost run together in the entire valley. It is an incredibly diverse historical city consisting of as many ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples, stupas, and monasteries as there are houses. Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal in itself is a city of wonders. On your one-day tour, you will not be able to see the entire valley, but on this full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, you will be taken to some of the most important well-known cultural, historical, and monumental sites. Many of these are squares, Temples, and Stupas which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After breakfast, we start our visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the Kathmandu District in a private vehicle. The temples, stupas, and other religious spots that you will encounter at each corner of every street will let you know why Kathmandu is called the city of temples. Lying in the heart of Kathmandu city, the palace is a true demonstration of fine art, culture, architecture, and designs. Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square indicates Nepalese art and architecture. The art, architecture, and designs manifested in the pillars, windows, and buildings of the palace are magnificent and were built by the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to 18th century. This square is home to a house full of woodcarving of different gods and goddesses which is also called Hanuman Doka, a big statue of Hanuman stands in front of the gate which is derived place named Hanuman Doka. One of the most popular temples of Kathmandu Durbar Square is Kashthamandap, also known as Maru Sattal. It is believed that the name of Kathmandu city is derived from the name of this temple, and it is said that this whole temple was built by only one single tree. The most visited temple in Kathmandu is Maru Ganesh. The people of Kathmandu Valley believe that the 4 Ganesh statues in the 4 corners of Kathmandu Valley protect the people living in Kathmandu. Every day people go to worship this temple, and especially on Tuesdays, you can see a long queue of people waiting for hours to worship.

Swayambhunath/Monkey Temple

Swayambhunath is one of the oldest popular Buddhist Stupas in Kathmandu lies on the top of a hill covering a large area, consisting of large Buddha Statues and Monasteries, gompas, and the influence of Buddhism, from where whole Kathmandu valleys can be seen. We can find out that around the stupa many monkeys live, and is the home of monkeys so it is also known as Monkey Temple which is said to be 2500 years old. Pashupatinath Temple Pashupatinath temple is the oldest Hindu temple among Hindu pilgrims. Only Hindus are allowed to enter this temple which is on the bank of the Bagmati river. Pashupatinath is a temple of Lord Shiva where around too many small temples also existed that consist of cremation centers where everyday dead bodies are cremated

Boudhanath Stupa

Boudhanath Stupa is the largest and highest-valued Buddhist t Stupa in the world many Buddhist monasteries are located and it is a very popular attraction in Kathmandu Valley. Daily too many Buddhist people round the stupa to gain religious rites. Here you not only get to appreciate the spectacular art and architecture but you will be feel blessed.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur is an old Newar town in the eastern part of Kathmandu and one of the most attractive parts is Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is a grand palace built by Malla Kings. The Square houses the 55 Windows Palace, Golden Gate, Taleju Temple, Nyatapol Temple, and the National Art Gallery is the most well-known of this place.
