Kailash inTibetan means the treasure of the snow caped mountain.It is one of the most sacred peak in the world with more than 1200 KM from Lhasa,has been one of the must visit destinations for any of Tibet tour in recent years.Atrip here wonderfully integrates the spiritual, cultural and physical dimensions of any trip to Tibet. Altitude ranges from 4675 Mtr at Darchen the starting point to 5630 Mtr at Dolmi Ri, the highest point of Kora. The Kora(Circuit) around Mt Kailash is one of the most important pilgrimages in Asia.It has been a religious sanctuary since pre Buddhist times.Pilgrims of Hindu,Buddhist, Jain and Bon believe that one kora around Mt Kailash cleans sins of this lifetime, 108 Kora breaks the cycle of rebirth and assures one of nirvana at death. The kora is made in a clockwise direction by Hindus and Buddhists but counterclockwise by followers of the Jain and Bon religions. This is one of the life time memorable tour in Himalaya.
